Centerbrook, CT, September 25, 2024 – The Soundings Trade Only Group is pleased to announce the release of the 2024 Marine Industry Global Workplace Study, a first-of-its-kind research initiative available October 1, 2024.
Spearheaded by the Soundings Trade Only Group in collaboration with sponsors: MarineMax, Volvo Penta, IMTRA Corporation, Yamaha, NMMA, MRAA, global industry partners: ICOMIA and Marine Industry News, and research partners: Category One and P20, this comprehensive study focuses on attracting, retaining, and developing top talent. The study aims to equip business leaders with valuable insights and actionable strategies to drive sustainable growth, success, and future readiness in the marine industry.
“This is a landmark study,” said Michele Goldsmith, Vice President, and General Manager of the Soundings Trade Only Group. “For the first time, a global coalition of industry leaders, associations, and professional researchers has come together to examine the marine workforce. Employees from diverse roles and regions have shared their perspectives on what draws them to the industry, what encourages them to stay or leave, and their career aspirations. The data reveals critical insights into the current state of the workforce and provides a foundation for future talent strategies that will shape the industry’s success.”
The global survey, conducted in April 2024, collected responses from more than 700 professionals representing a wide array of sectors and disciplines. Additionally, two focus groups held in July 2024 contributed qualitative insights, offering a deeper understanding of the workforce’s needs and expectations.
Beginning October 1, 2024, the study results will be available on the Soundings Trade Only website at www.tradeonlytoday.com/workplace-study. The complete 2024 Marine Industry Global Workplace Study report may also be downloaded from this site. Additionally, the Soundings Trade Only Group will present the study’s findings, at times along with industry leadership panels, at several key industry events: at the IBEX show main stage on Tuesday, October 1 at 4:30 pm, at the METSTRADE show in the USA Connect Lounge on Wednesday, November 20 at 3:30 pm, and at Dealer Week on December 10.
